Jasper South Carolina anyone??????

I started reading this book yesterday. It's called The Wedding Machine by Beth Webb Hart. I've already read 115 pages!!!It's a great book about a circle of friends in Jasper South Carolina who organize all of
the baptisms, cotillions, graduations, debutante balls and weddings in the community. These women have a tight bond and their daughters were raised together. By reading this book it makes me want to go visit Jasper and sit out by the seawall, hang on a old oak tree or just go look for all the old plantation style homes. I'm so glad I'm a Southern Girl and have great southern values.

This book has made reflect on the relationships I have with family and friends. I'm so grateful for a loving family who is there for me whenever I need them. I'm also grateful for my friends. I have some of the same friends I've had since Elementary School. While I might not talk to them every day or every week for that matter, I know all I have to do is pick up the phone and we can pick up where we left off!!! One of these great friends just recently became my neighbor again:)We have lived in the same neighborhood since we were in 3rd grade. When we moved to a new neighborhood so did Krista and her family. We lived a few streets from each other until she got married. I know everything/everyone in her family as she does mine. She is now married and has 2 kids and hopefully one day our kids will get to play together or at least Allie can babysit my kids.

I don't know why but I've been doing alot of reflecting lately and while I am nowhere near where I want to be in life, I am learning to take a step back and enjoy the great moments that are not always guaranteed.

To all of my family and friends...new and old, I love each and every one of you and am so thankful you are in my life:)

  1. Hopie: As one of your family members and also a friend, I want you to know how much you are loved and thougth and cared about (I know this is not grammatically correct, however, it conveys the point). From that morning in December a few years ago, you have always been such a special girl. Gan Gan and Grandma Re always busted at the seems with pride for you! You liked to go to the garden and pick your own beets for dinner (Gan Gan planted beets just for you). Grandma Re always had books ready for you to read when you would come over . . . books were your friend at a very, very early age!
Now you are a very responsible young woman with a goal and I know you will achieve your goal. Your organization skills and discipline are impeccable! Stay optimistic and remember who supplies all of our needs . . . and He will provide for you too just as he has been doing.
I love you very much. Nordie
